Each month, Friends of Residential Treasures Los Angeles (FORT: LA) curates a new self-guided trail, inviting Angelenos to explore the city’s rich architectural heritage. These immersive experiences highlight significant homes, hidden gems, and the designers who have shaped Los Angeles' built environment.
This month’s trail is entitled Visionary Leader, Modernist Matriarch: The Life of Jean Roth Driskel and is curated by Heather Goers. It explores the architectural legacy of Jean Roth Driskel, FAIA, a pioneering woman in mid-century modern design. This trail highlights a selection of Driskel’s most significant residential and civic projects, showcasing her innovative approach to design, her advocacy for women in architecture, and her lasting impact on the built environment. This Trail is made possible in part by a grant from the City of Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs.
